Our Top 5 from IDSwest

Posted on September 30, 2015 by Jared

Another fabulous IDSwest has come and gone. Like every other year, the show was the place to be if you love all things beautiful! With over 35,000 attendees over 3.5 days, it’s a very busy weekend where we have the opportunity to connect with past clients and introduce ourselves to new ones.

And while most of our time was spent chatting with trend setting designers and homeowners, we did manage to sneak away from our booth and check out all of the other fabulous exhibitors. Here are our top five that caught our eye at this year’s IDSwest (in alphabetical order):

By Nature

By Nature Design, Mossart Walls

Local to Vancouver, By Nature reconnects people with nature by transforming spaces into healthy living environments. We absolutely love their collection of Mossart walls. Talk about eco-friendly! (We loved them so much we’ve decided to feature Mossart walls in our showrooms. Stay tuned for more info!)

Camouflage Heater

Camouflage Heater

Camouflage Heater is an energy efficient heating system that combines art with function. Based out of Quebec, Camouflage Heater uses radiant infrared technology to secretly heat your space. Genius and stunning.

Cerno Lighting

Cerno Lighting

Based out of California, this trio does lighting well! Cerno Lighting caught our eye last year and we loved them as much this year. Their unique lights are made with solid walnut wood and they can easily be used as your space’s work of art – they’re that gorgeous.

Reclaimed Print

Reclaimed Print

Reclaimed Print is a local business (or is it artist?) that uses innovative technology to print on wood. Wow! From unique stationery to artwork, their work combines nature and design for a stunning effect.

Spruce Collective

Spruce Collective, Abbotsford, BC

Spruce Collective is a brick & mortar retail store in Abbotsford with an “I-want-it-all” array of vintage items for your home. Spruce Collective is officially our new happy place! And if you need anything for special events, they also have a rental department… oh my!

Until next year IDSwest!

IDSwest Sneak Peeks

The start of Vancouver’s Interior Design Week is only a few days away! There are lots of design events taking place around the city with IDSwest being the week’s highlight.

The Interior Design Show West at the Vancouver Convention Centre is a four-day event that features the latest trends, ideas and products for your home. There are dozens of exhibitors, celebrity designers, speaker series and design exhibits to inspire your next project. This year, you’ll find us in booth #1109 with some of our most popular eco-friendly wall surfaces.

Here are a few sneak peeks of what you’ll find at our booth:

Banana Wall Tiles

Banana Wall Tiles

These shiny wall tiles are our newest tiles made from the bark of sustainably harvested banana trees. These fun eco-friendly wall tiles are available in a variety of different textures and colours. They can be mixed and matched to create stunning walls.

Architectural Wall Panels

Ecor Architectural Panels

These are non-toxic (formaldehyde free!) architectural wall panels made with 100% recycled materials. The metallic finish includes real metal particles that will rust overtime. You can use them to build non load-bearing walls or to decorate existing walls.

Teak Wood Wall Tiles

teak-wood-wall-tilesImported from Brazil, these FSC-certified mosaic wall tiles are made from Brazilian Teak trees. To create durable tiles, the wood undergoes an safe preservative treatment called thermally modified timber. Using only heat and pressure in the absence of oxygen, the thermally modified teak is resistant to insects, highly durable and safe for use in any room in your home.

We look forward to seeing you and discussing your design project at IDSwest!

Vin de Garde Modern Wine Cellar Systems is Vancouver’s premier manufacturer of custom wine cellars and wine storage systems. Using a wide range of materials, such as glass, steel, acrylic and wood, each of their custom built solutions is a highly functional and beautiful space designed specifically for each client (and their wine!).

The Design A Panel contest is a friendly competition featuring 60 select interior designers to help raise funds for Covenant House in Vancouver. Here’s how it works:

1. Each designer is supplied with a 12″ x 10″ clear acrylic panel. The panels are part of Vin de Garde’s wine wall series, a modular kit that allows you to build your own wine wall.

2. Using our creativity, each competitor is tasked to embellish their clear acrylic panel.

3. All 60 beautiful  panels will be displayed in a large wine wall and then auctioned off individually to raise funds.

The Eco Floor Store is proud to take part in this creative fundraiser! We decorated three panels with three different eco-friendly wall surfaces: Pearlamina wall tiles, Natura wall tiles and Stikwood.

The free event is on September 26th, 2014. For tickets and additional info, click here. Let’s hope our panels bring in huge dollars for Covenant House!
