Jared Kress is the owner and founder of Hillcrest Laminate & Molding and The Eco Floor Store.
Having spent several years as an installer, Jared and Hillcrest Laminate & Molding emerged as one of the fastest growing flooring installation companies in the Fraser Valley. Realizing the need to offer his clients more than quality installations, Jared opened The Eco Floor Store in January 2011. Through The Eco Floor Store, Jared provides residential and commercial clients full service flooring and surfaces solutions.
“Green living is my passion,” says Jared. “It’s important for me to make conscious decisions that help protect my family’s health and our environment.” From small home renovations to large multi-family and commercial projects, Jared shares his passion, commitment to quality and “tell it like it is” personality with every client.
Jared has managed and completed many high-profile projects for clients such as BRITCO, Telus, BC Housing, RCMP, Balandra Development, New City Contracting, Fast Track Flooring, Peridot Home Decor, Ocean Pacific Restoration, Bel-Air Construction, Intact Insurance, Mundie’s Towing, and Granville Island Vet Hospital to name a few.
Meliha is our in-house Surfaces Specialist. Having spent many years in the hardwood industry, Meliha has a solid understanding of material acquisition, quality control and project management. She has a killer instinct for details that ensures that every aspect of a project is well-managed. She also knows all the details about each of our eco-friendly products, which makes her a valuable asset to our clients.
“We spend a large part of lives indoors,” says Meliha. “Choosing a non-toxic and natural solution for our surfaces just makes sense – it’s like choosing healthy organic foods for our bodies.” As the Surfaces Specialist, Meliha excels at helping every client select the best eco product for their project.

Patricia is our talented Architectural & Design Representative. She recently graduated from the Interior Design program at BCIT where she received extensive training in interior design, space planning, graphic presentations, colour and lighting. Her passion for green building, along with her natural talent for design, helps her successfully assist the A&D community with finding unique and inspiring eco surfaces for their projects.
“My life passion is for the generations,” says Patricia. “I envision safe and healthy environments for present and future generations – a vision to leave a legacy of preserving our resources and maintaining our planet in a way that allows our children and their children to thrive. Investing in green design is my way of taking responsibility to ensure that vision is achieved.” We couldn’t have said it better!
Jessica manages marketing efforts for The Eco Floor Store. Her goal is to make sure everyone from Whistler to Hope interested in green building, environmentally friendly products and healthy living knows about our unique showroom.
“Spreading the word about The Eco Floor Store is easy,” says Jessica. “Healthy living is something I do day-to-day. Helping others live a healthy life free of harmful chemicals is rewarding. And helping share Jared and the rest of the team’s passion for green building with other like minded homeowners, builders and design professionals is exciting!”
