Display Walls at Royal Tyrrell Museum

Posted on August 8, 2016 by Jared

The Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology in Drumheller, Alberta is a go-to Summer attraction for many BC families. And with a regular stream of new programs and exhibits, it’s no surprise many people make the long road trip more than once!

One of the museum’s new exhibits for this summer is Foundations:

“Using innovative techniques and technologies Foundations encourages visitors to understand the development of life on Earth, evolution, geology, fossilization, and Alberta’s role in the palaeontological record.” + More

Construction of the exhibit started a few months ago in the design phase. That’s when we were asked to supply one of our eco-friendly wall surfaces. The museum picked Stikwood, an easy-to-install peel and stick tile made from reclaimed wood; we supplied over 2,400 square feet! Here are a few photos of the construction and the new exhibit:

The reclaimed wood tiles are staggered at the end of the display to create a fun transition to the next exhibit.

“It’s so easy, just peel and stick – and the results speak for themselves! We are very happy with the ease of installation and the look that Stikwood brings to our renovation.” – Tyler Eddy, Project & Interpretive Planner, Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology

And voila! The exhibit is complete.
