A little custom woodwork can be just what your DIY flooring project needs. Think of it as the cherry on the cake, it just finishes it off nicely!
When it comes to installing a floor, the difficult part is often the transitions – between rooms and/or different flooring materials – and the stairs. In this home in Langley, the home owners installed the engineered hardwood floors (Frontier Trail by American Guild) throughout the house and enlisted our help to build custom details for the stairs.
Using the same material as the floors, we built custom square edge nosings for the stairs with an open-end return on one side the stair tread and a custom ledge where the railing ties into the floor on the upper level. The result is a highly professional and seamless installation. Now that’s great team work!
