Warm Wood for Fall Weather

The arrival of fall weather always makes us want to cozy up with hot chocolate in front of a warm fireplace. And making sure we have a space that is ultra comfortable makes it that much better.

That’s why we love our wood wall surfaces. They’re perfect for creating warm and inviting spaces:

Project Skin MD is British Columbia’s most comprehensive centre for dermatology, anti-aging and laser medicine. Located at 1495 West 11th Avenue, Project Skin MD Vancouver offers its patients a variety of progressive treatments, from hair removal to lip enhancements.

The Eco Floor Store had the pleasure of supplying and installing eco-friendly surfaces for their beautiful new clinic in the South Granville neighbourhood. The floors in the first floor window display, upstairs hallway and elevator are finished with eco-friendly vinyl planks (colour: tavern tobacco). Vinyl plank flooring by Harbinger is an excellent choice for the clinic as vinyl is highly durable, hygienic and easy to clean.

The clinic also features 500 square feet of Finium FriendlyWall solid walnut wall panels for the ceiling in the reception area and wall in the bathroom. We also built and installed custom walnut millwork around the lighting and HVAC ducts to perfectly finish the ceiling.

Reclaimed Wood Wall Tiles, The Eco Floor StoreHandmade Eco Friendly Wood Wall Tiles

Earlier this year, we attended Surfaces 2012 in Las Vegas. We were on a mission to find eco-friendly surfaces for our Vancouver-based clients. When we saw Everitt & Schilling Tile Co.’s handmade wall tiles made from reclaimed barn wood and recycled hardwood, we knew they were perfect for our design savvy clients!

Everitt & Schilling Tile Co. specializes in making wall and ceiling tiles from reclaimed and upcycled wood. They have two beautiful product lines: reclaimed barn wood tiles and recycled hardwood tiles. Both are now available exclusively at The Eco Floor Store.

Reclaimed Barn Wood Wall Tiles

We recently featured these unique wall tiles in our booth at IDSwest in Vancouver. They were an instant it! So much so, they were featured on The Marilyn Denis Show by celebrity interior designer Andrew Pike.

The tiles are handcrafted from the wood of old barns found throughout the Western United States. The tiles coated in a low VOC, water based ceramic finish so they can be easily installed in surfaces throughout your space, from accent walls, backsplashes to modern artwork. They are available in a series of formats, patterns and colours.

Take a look at this video that shows how the tiles are made from beginning to end:

Recycled Hardwood Wall Tiles

These eco-friendly wood tiles are made from upcycled hardwood. Cut and shaped into elegant designs, the hardwood panels feature alternating depths and lengths to create stunning feature walls and decorative ceilings. They are also available in different colours and stains.
